Who is eligible for the student license?
Any student that can accredit their valid active study status with a student email address and study certificate can apply for a LightningChart license
Is the student license really free?
Yes, the student licenses are free of charge, their usage must be attributed within the student’s work, and do not grant commercial rights.
What can I use the student license for?
Student licenses may be used for schoolwork, programming tasks, and thesis work.
Can I collaborate with classmates using the student license?
Student licenses are nontransferable. Other students must apply for their own student license individually.
How long does the student license last?
The validity for LightningChart .NET and JS is one year. A free version of the LightningChart Python Data Scientist license is available free of charge indefinitely.
Can I publish my thesis or research using charts created with the student license?
Yes, you may publish your schoolwork, projects, and thesis work by always attributing to LightningChart using the following format: “This project was developed with a student license granted free of charge by LightningChart Ltd (www.LightningChart.com).”
What happens after I graduate?
Your license will be valid for the specified validity time. If your license expires and you are no longer a student, you cannot apply for a new license anymore.
Is support included with the student license?
Dedicated technical support is not included for student licenses. Students are encouraged to write questions to LightningChart online communities including Reddit, Quora, and Stack Overflow.
