Alpha Omega Engineering

Alpha Omega is the market leader in physiological navigation for advanced neurosurgical procedures, like deep brain stimulation (DBS), treating Parkinson’s (PD), and a variety of other movement disorders.

In the operation room, the systems perform Micro Electrode Recoding (MER) at 44KHz, show the data in real-time, and store it for offline use. In this product “Omega Player“, we play the offline data as it is real-time which means the data graphs shall play and add new data higher than 30 Hz.

Alpha Omega, as the market leader, took it upon itself to make the DBS procedure available for every eligible patient, by:

  1. Making the implantation procedure in the operating room not only effective but also simple and affordable.
  2. Providing objective tools to movement disorders neurologists to deal effectively with DBS PD patients.

Why did you choose LightningChart JS?

Our team is working on a project that involves handling a substantial amount of data updates. To underscore the sheer volume, we are dealing with approximately 8 million data points. We conducted extensive comparisons among various charting libraries after reviewing their performance…

“…ultimately, LightningChart emerged as the top performer.”

What are the best qualities of LightningChart?

Performance and technical support. The ability to talk and have an online meeting to explain our needs.

What do you think about LightningChart’s tech support?

In the beginning, we had so many questions about using LightningChart but the support team was more than happy to help us find the appropriate configuration to use the graphs to meet the required high performance. Not to mention the LightningChart support team worked on preparing some code examples that helped us optimize the performance.

What kind of benefits have you achieved by using LightningChart?

We benefited from having the ability to upgrade an old product built in MFC (C++) and using JS, which can be widely distributed in addition to the new features that LightningChart supports.
